How the Budi95 Subsidy Works in 2026
The Budi95 programme provides subsidised RON95 at RM1.99/litre to all Malaysians with a registered vehicle, up to a monthly quota. The quota was reduced from 300L to 200L per month in April 2026 due to budget constraints. Once your quota is used up, you pay the full market price of ~RM4.07/litre at the pump.
This is a significant departure from the old system where a single subsidised price applied to everyone. The system uses MyKad and vehicle registration data to track quota usage across all petrol stations in real time.
